The 21-year-old has not played any professional football since he was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Those charges have since been dropped, but questions remain over the one-time England international's future with the Red Devils.
A decision is expected in the coming weeks after United launched an internal investigation into the matter, and there have been contrasting reports regarding what the next steps will look like.
Greenwood has been linked with clubs in Turkey and Italy since the dropping of his charges, although recent reports suggest that the English giants have also considered reinstating his position in the senior side.
According to The Sun, the striker was recently spotted working with a private coach at a public sports ground, doing drills on close control and shooting while wearing a fitness monitor.
The left-footed forward was included in United's retained list that was released at the end of the past season, with reports suggesting that it only means he is still contracted to the club and not that a decision has been reached.
