The Royal have welcomed 31-year-old Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to the Saudi Pro League, bringing an end to a three-year stay in England.

Mendy lost his starting place at the Blues to Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga last season under Graham Potter, and struggled to recover it even after Frank Lampard took over as interim boss.
The shot-stopper, who has been capped on 28 occasions for his country since his debut in 2018, made just 12 appearances in all competitions this past season and kept one clean sheet in the process.
Mendy, however, was once considered an important part of Chelsea's first team as he helped the club win the UEFA Champions League in 2020/21.

The ex-Rennes star becomes the first high-profile arrival at Al Ahli following Mosimane's departure earlier this month and the Public Investment Fund's move to take control of the club, as well as three others in the SPL.
