Manchester United have identified a player who could wear the famous number seven jersey for next season.
The iconic jersey has been vacated since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club in November after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, where criticised the club and manager Erik ten Hag.

However, Manchester Evening News have reported that the Red Devils are considering giving the jersey to the talented Alejandro Garnacho following his breakout season.
The Argentine was a key player off the bench for Ten Hag's side this season and managed to contribute with six goals and six assists in 37 appearances across all competition.
Garnacho was also rewarded with a call-up to the Argentine national side while he also committed his future to the Red Devils by signing a five-year deal earlier this month.
The number seven has been somewhat cursed over the years as the previous owners include Edinson Cavani, Alexis Sanchez, Memphis Depay and Angel di Maria, all of whom did not last long at Old Trafford.
Should Garnacho inherit the number seven jersey at United, he will be the first teenager to do since Ronaldo when he took over from club legend David Beckham in 2004.
