As first reported by the Siya crew, the treble-winning coach was set to meet with the Chiefs hierarchy, who flew him out to Johannesburg with a view of him taking over the Chiefs hot seat next season.
The talks were subject to the coach's personal terms, and various media reports elsewhere stated that the coach was keen on the job although a condition would be to have his own technical team join him at the Glamour Boys.
While the possible deal has gained momentum, there have been suggestions that Yanga are not keen on losing their coach without a fight!
Well-placed Siya sources have informed the crew that the Tanzanian outfit are lining up a new and improved contract for the 57-year-old in an attempt to hold onto his services beyond the expiry of his contract at the end of June.
Nabi joined Yanga in 2021 and has managed an impressive haul of six trophies in two seasons!
According to Siya sources, the coach will now weigh up the offers from both Chiefs and Yanga before making a decision on where he will be coaching next season.
