Chelsea 'Set' To Send 15 Stars Packing This Off-Season

Chelsea 'Set' To Send 15 Stars Packing This Off-Season

With Mauricio Pochettino having already axed Joao Felix from his Chelsea plans, the Argentine tactician is reportedly set to send up to another 14 stars packing this off-season.

According to the Daily Mail, Felix was the first of many stars the Blues hope to ship out in the coming months.

Pochettino was appointed as the club's new manager on Monday afternoon, and the following day already gave the order to send the Portuguese forward back to Atletico Madrid.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss wants to significantly trim his 30-plus bloated squad as he looks to get a grip on the situation at the club.

Midfielder Denis Zakaria is reportedly another player, like Felix, who will be returning to his parent club after an unsuccessful temporary spell in west London.

Players who are permanent members of the squad but are likely to depart soon are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy and Callum Hudson-Odoi, while the futures of Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta and N'Golo Kante remain up in the air.

There has been interest shown in the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek from other top European sides, while Mason Mount is also expected to depart the club as he approaches the final year of his deal at Stamford Bridge.

Contract negotiations between the Englishman and the Blues have seemingly reached a dead end, but Pochettino is reportedly hoping he can yet entice the 24-year-old to extend.

The same report claims that the Premier League giants are hoping to raise up to £280 million (R6.8 billion) in player sales to reinvest in incomings, with their new Argentine boss said to be eager to bring in a new midfielder and a top out-and-out striker.
