According to Sport, the first steps to have Messi return to the Blaugrana have begun with the 35-year-old forward having been given his first contract offer from the Spanish giants.
The LaLiga champions have reportedly offered the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner €25 million (R520 million) a season, which would make him the one of the highest-paid players at the club.
It is believed that the football icon will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the campaign, with the Argentine eager to return to Catalonia, but his homecoming is contingent on the right financial circumstances being in place in Catalonia.
