Not many believed Southgate would continue as Three Lions boss following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where England crashed out at the quarter-final stage following a disappointing 2-1 loss to France in which Harry Kane missed an important penalty late on to equalise.
The 52-year-old chose not to decide his future immediately after his team's exit in the Middle East and instead took time before making it clear that he would stay on as manager, a decision that Saka, who has been capped on 24 occasions so far, is fully behind.

"I am so pleased [the manager] decided to stay on," he told the Evening Standard.
"I really wanted him to. He's been so great on the pitch and off the pitch for me, supporting me and also believing in me.
"In some big games, putting me in and trusting me, I'll always be grateful for that.
"I hope I can continue to play under him and, hopefully, win something as well. I've played in two big tournaments now and I have got more experience for England."
