Manchester City have released a statement after being accused of over 100 financial breaches by the Premier League.

On Monday, news broke that the reigning Premier League champions are facing serious charges following a four-year investigation.
The Citizens are alleged to have committed several offences in respect to EPL laws, including charges relating to the club's revenue.

In response to the allegations, City have released a statement of their own amid suggestions the club could be docked points if they are found guilty by an independent commission.
"Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with," it read.
"The Club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent Commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position.
"As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all."
