Manchester City are reportedly set to hand a first-team player a whopping 400% pay rise in an effort to tie him down to a long-term contract.
Man City Star 'Offered' To Real Madrid
While it has been a difficult season so far for the Premier League champions, 18-year-old fullback Rico Lewis has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Pep Guardiola.
The teenager has started in all of the last three matches for the Citizens across all competitions, having been preferred at times over Joao Cancelo, who has since joined Bayern Munich on loan, and experienced England international Kyle Walker.
According to the Daily Star, City are desperate to have Lewis commit his long-term future to the club, with his current deal expiring in June.
The club are reportedly willing to offer a 400% increase on his salary that would see the talented youngster go from earning £5 000 (R105 000) a week to being paid a handsome £25 000 (R526 000) every week.
