Messi To Join Ronaldo In Saudi Arabia? League Boss Responds!
Although he would have loved to get on the scoresheet in his first official start for Al Nassr at the weekend, the 37-year-old, who was named captain, did impress French tactician Rudi Garcia.
Speaking after the game, the 58-year-old said he was delighted with the ex-Real Madrid talisman's contribution at the King Saud University Stadium on Sunday.
"It's a positive addition when you have a player like Ronaldo as he helps to distract the defenders, which is what happened with our goal," he said, according to Reuters.
"Today we created opportunities for him and asked the players to diversify the game between him and Talisca, and we must not forget that he participated in the (exhibition match against) Paris St Germain and did not get enough rest.
"Even with the presence of Ronaldo, it is not easy to win the Saudi League because of the strength of the competitors."
Al Nassr are currently at the top of the Saudi Pro League after winning 10 of their first 14 matches of the campaign, although they are just one point above Al Hilal.
Talisca, the scorer of Al Nassr's goal on Sunday, has now struck 12 times in as many matches in the league this season.
