General secretary of Saudi Arabia's Football Federation Ibrahim Alkassim has responded to the reports that Lionel Messi could join Cristiano Ronaldo in the middle east.
Messi and Al-Nassr's Ronaldo squared off in an exhibition encounter on Thursday, with Paris Saint-Germain defeating a Saudi Arabia All-Star XI 5-4.
Ronaldo Nets Twice In Potential Final Clash With Rival Messi
The Argentine is in the final year of his contract with PSG and there have been reports linking the World Cup winner with a move to Al-Nassr's biggest rivals Al-Hilal.
However, Alkassim has now poured cold water over the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's links with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
"At the moment we do not know anything about a possible Lionel Messi arrival.
"Although I do not hide that, as Saudi Federation, we would like to have him one day in the domestic league.
"The idea of the Federation is always to improve our football, and of course we would like to see Cristiano and Messi in the same league again.
"But the truth is that we don't know anything now."
Messi has also been linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, while reports in Europe claim he could extend his contract with the French champions.
