Early in July, the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions announced that a number of players had switched their international allegiances from European nations to Ghana, and one of them was Brighton Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey.
Ghana head coach Otto Addo has now called the former Chelsea starlet up for his maiden appearance with the Black Stars ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua, and London-born Lamptey has reportedly been impressing in training.
Speaking to the Ghana Football Association ahead of their clash against the Selecao, the 21-year-old expressed his expectations for the match against the Selecao, and also revealed how he has been settling in.
"In this game you have to prepare very well, you prepare based on how you want to play, and we're already excited and looking forward to play against the team [Brazil] on Friday," he said, according to the organisation's official website.
"I feel really good; training has been really good, it's good to know everybody. There is a very high quality here and we are working hard in training, listening to what the coach has to say and looking forward to the game.
