Things may have been difficult for Shauwn Mkhize over the last few months, but the Siya crew understands that the Royal AM boss is determined to stay in the game of professional football.
The PSL looks set to finally announce the expulsion of Royal AM from the Betway Premiership, after the club has failed to meet the mandate of playing its matches since December, due to Mkhize owing in excess of R40 million to the South African Revenue Services (SARS). That, however, has not happened and indications are that Mkhize is determined to hold onto the club and keep it in the professional ranks, though that’s proving to be difficult at the moment.
The club filed a court interdict against the Premier Soccer League board of governors. The meeting was scheduled for last Thursday. The application was dismissed, and the club now faces the possibility of being liquidated.
The Siya crew understands that Mkhize is determined to run a football club in the country and will continue to make an effort to save the club, or return in future to reclaim her place in professional football.
