Following Kaizer Chiefs' draw with AmaZulu last weekend, a Supporters Club member and Kaizer Chiefs supporter has voiced his opinion and frustration regarding Steve Komphela's tactics for the team.
Here are khosibybirth548's thoughts on the matter.
"When I saw the line-up, and people said we were going to win easily, I was the only one who said it was either going to be 0-0 or 1-0. What had I seen? I had noticed that we still using a team that had no imagination going forward. I noticed that we could only score via a set-piece, which I stated that set-pieces have become our plan A instead of B.
"Steve still focuses too much on defence. Once you lack imagination going forward, teams are able to take you on toe to toe because you cannot hurt them. When the coach introduces an offensive team late, the problem is that they are in a hurry. They are desperate. As a result the thinking levels diminish.
"That team with the Ntshangases, Shabbas, Eksteins must start games with a back four. Zuma must come in to eliminate players. Castro must stay in the kitchen. We have nothing to lose. All that we need is to watch football. Take control from scratch and patiently so.
"I repeat, Lebese, Khuse, Khumalo, Mbuthu, Pule, Doctor, Ngobese, Ntsoelengoe, Dladla, Masango, and many more were not good in defence yet they could track back. Why bench Ntshangase for his defensive incapability instead of playing him for his attacking prowess?
"Steve must pack and go. If the guy was honest, he would resign. Must we riot first? Must we threaten him or his family? What do we have to do for Steve to do the right thing?
"Castro ends up playing deep cos there's no imagination. Shabba isn't a No. 10. Ntshangase must be our point of reference, he must play behind the attack. When the team attacks, Ntshangase must remain slightly behind and conduct the orchestra and make late runs into the box. Otherwise this misery will continue into the Nedbank. Baroka will kill us with this cautious approach that Komphela is using. We are tired."
Do you agree with this supporter's sentiments about Komphela's Chiefs?
