Kaizer Chiefs failed to secure maximum points and suffered their first league loss in 2018 in what was an electrifying Soweto Derby on Saturday afternoon, when they clashed with arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.
Although the two sides went into the half-time break level at 1-1, super-sub Luvuyo "Amigo" Memela came on and changed everything, netting twice to hand the supporters a long-awaited Soweto Derby league victory and three points for the Buccaneers.
The loss sees Steve Komphela's league title hopes take a hit as Bucs closed the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Supporters Club members have reacted to the outcome of this thrilling encounter:
"Pirates did well for themselves. What I can say is that they have to push Sundowns to the limit because they have all the resources required to win the championship." – Xolisa{khosificated}
"Chiefs must not feel bad, it's not them but us (Bucs). We were simply stronger than them but I'm sure if they keep the same squad for the next few seasons, they can win something." – BIG-MIKE14_VERSUS EDITOR ROUND3
"There is no need to blame Komphela. Like I said, blame the Motaung family because of being stingy and thinking that players like Shabba, Katsande, and the rest will run with Lorch, Shonga, Mulenga, Morrison and king Memela. It's time to go buy new players and a new coach." – slivo ledimo
"No team at this moment in the PSL can match our (Bucs) attacking pace, we are aggressive and dangerous. Khune felt it Saturday, he was just afraid to admit that jujus are dangerous." – ianwalepiratees
