Let's take a closer look...

AmaZulu FC head honcho Sandile Zungu has revealed the reasons for Benni McCarthy's dismissal in March last year and whether he regrets it or not.

The Bafana Bafana legend now finds himself in Erik ten Hag's coaching staff at Manchester United after leaving Usuthu, where he enjoyed a superb start to the job midway through the 2020/21 season, guiding the Durban-based side to a second place finish in the league.

Despite a commendable CAF Champions League campaign, Usuthu struggled for form under McCarthy in the DStv Premiership and when it was clear they wouldn't achieve top four target, Zungu sought out assurances from McCarthy on a top eight finish and suggested the former Cape Town City coach was non-committal.

Zungu admits that hiring McCarthy was great for the club but is resolute in the fact that he made the right decision in replacing him with Brandon Truter.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Zungu: Why I'd Fire Benni Again" story:

"Unlike the shy one from the village, Zungu is able to make decisions, whether good or bad," says Shikabala.

"Until he stops being emotional, he will remain a KZN [Chippa] Mpengesi. Many teams who participate in continental competitions struggle in the domestic league, with the exception of Sundowns, because of the size and quality of their squad.

"AmaZulu signed Chiefs rejects and Zungu hoped for and expected miracles. But hey, it is his money," says siyaz.

"At least you cleared the air today, Mr. Zungu. As long as there's no bad blood between the two of you, I am happy. Business is always about targets. So, honestly you can't go with someone who doesn't trust himself," says zuzuumhle.

"He would fire him again just because he doesn't know football at all," says madondosicelo.

Having already secured the services of Siyabonga Ngezana, Romanian outfit FCSB formally known as Steaua Bucure?ti, have reportedly set their sights on two other Kaizer Chiefs players.

Ashley Du Preez and Reeve Frosler have landed on FCSB's radar, with the Siya Crew revealing that Chiefs have rebuffed interest in both players due to their importance to the club's cause.

FCSB paid Chiefs around R12 million for Ngezana and you can guarantee that Du Preez and Frosler wouldn't come cheap as they're both contracted to the Soweto giants for the long term.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Romanian Giants Keen On Two Chiefs Stars!" story:

"Farmers league that one but Chiefs' cows can fit in perfectly," says Eduardo Dos Santos.

"They must move to greener pastures," says thamivutisanikhosa.

"Wow... I didn't think #KCFC is still noticed outside the borders and I know Dr. Kaizer never stood in a players way," says khosilannet0.

"It will be good for our National Team if more players join teams in other leagues. Chiefs are known for not standing in the way of wanted players or who want to go and play in other leagues.

"Lucas Radebe, Shoes, Doctor, Ace, Komphela and many more were allowed to go elsewhere. Chiefs are not selling players to survive but they honor the wish of players," says Soccer Fanatic.

"They can release Frosler, not Du Preez. The latter was the only shining star in that strike force," says siyaz.

"Hayi suka, those 2 can be easily replaced. Even tomorrow," says mthunzijack7.
