Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has reflected on his team's Nedbank Cup run and what surprised him in the final against Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

Riveiro revealed that playing against lower division sides was a the most challenging aspect of their run to their second cup triumph of the season, where the Buccaneers had to overcome Dondol Stars and the Venda Football Academy in their run.

The Spaniard also mentioned that he was surprised by Sekhukhune's approach in the final, where they opened the scoring curtesy of Sibusiso Vilakazi in a 2-1 win for the Sea Robbers.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Riveiro: I Don't Want To Sound Like The Smartest" story:

"When our league is being dominated by one team, football lovers are quick to claim that our standard is poor but when a plumber comes and win trophies, we celebrate him," says Shikabala.

"For Nedbank, since the beginning of this tournament, Pie-rats [Pirates] is benefiting. They struggled playing Venda Football Academy, extra-time against Dondol Stars, where the ref denied Stars clear penalty. Chiefs extra-time, the ref denied Chiefs a penalty, they get penalty for nothing on Saturday night against Babina Noko.

"I don't understand why we praise the Plumber for that," says Scara11.

"This Riveiro talks too much! Soon his hooligans will kick him out!" says Gizaretti.

"He is responding to the question, he cannot ask himself questions and answer. What I'm trying to say is that, there is someone who's pushing him to speak too much," says Fair Comment.

Outgoing defender Eric Mathoho received plenty of praise from Kaizer Chiefs chairman, Dr Kaizer Motaung, who explained why "Tower" was unveiled at the club using a mannequin.

Dr. Motaung praised Mathoho for his loyalty to the club, after Tower said goodbye to Amakhosi last week following an 11-year stay at the club.

The Amakhosi head honcho also revealed that Mathoho will always be remembered for his bizarre unveiling at the club, who still had lose ends to tie up from his deal on the day of the reveal back in 2011.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Motaung: When Mathoho Was Replaced By A Mannequin" story:

"What has he achieved with his loyalty to the team? He is no different to Thabo Mooki," says Cutter.

"Zwane has blood on his hands here..." says tony.siyabulela11.

"It so unfortunate for SA players. Once you're over 30, you're considered finished. It would have made sense if we were producing enough but we're just producing average players," says shabanguntuthuko.

"Also surprising that when you are 25 to 27 in Mzansi, you are a youngster," says Vha Musanda Cosmos na Bucs.
