Following the announcement of the Bafana Bafana squad that will feature in the upcoming 4-Nations tournament, Supporters Club members continue to share their views about the selected players and those who were not called up.
Among the players who were not called up for national duties is Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Luvuyo Memela. The 30-year-old has contributed massively in Bucs' impressive run this season, and scored a brace in the latest Soweto Derby against longtime rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
A few supporters shared their mixed opinions about Memela's snub, with some sarcastically pointing out that perhaps his brace against Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is the reason he misses out on the opportunity to don the famous national team colours.
"Memela's only sin was exposing Khune for who he really is in the Soweto Derby." – chiefs is useless
"I'm a Chiefs fan and dislike Pirates, but I think Memela should have been added to this team." – Kopong T
"Memela plays occasionally. He should raise his bar to make it to Bafana. He is a poor decision-maker." – Bubbles
"I think Memela deserved a call-up, he (Bafana coach Stuart Baxter) should've sacrificed one between Furman, Moon and Modiba." – Mico rhulani
