After finally tasting victory against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening, Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy stated that the win in their Nedbank Cup last 16, which cost Buccaneers a spot in the quarter-finals, was not his biggest victory.
Supporters Club members reacted to Benni's statement, with some taking a swipe at Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela.
"This means Pirates still have work to do so that next year we can win trophies. I believe in Orlando Pirates, they will do us proud." – Slayza tsotsi
"It won't be long before Benni surpasses Steve Komphela with silverware." – Dreboy
"It does not matter who you are beating as long as you win. Beating Pirates is a cherry on top." – EagleEye
"Big up, Citizens, on the result but winning the trophy should be your biggest win. The pressure is now on Benni to win it, otherwise Wednesday's result will be a waste. Might even cost his team in the top eight. On Bucs, well, they still have the league to fight for, which in itself will be a bonus since they are rebuilding. CAF should be their main motivation." – smo
Who do you think will be the first to obtain their first official silverware, between Benni and Komphela?
