Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has bemoaned the number of draws his men have played to this season.
Following their 0-0 draw – their 12th league stalemate of the season – against AmaZulu last weekend, "Jola" admitted that the draws have been a cause of concern for Amakhosi.
Several Supporters Club members have reacted to Komphela's statement:
"I hope the next Chiefs coach is learning from Komphela's mistakes. Around this time of the season, a good coach approaches every game with more attacking players. Score a goal or two then defend the lead in the second half. Komphela starts every game defensively then introduces attacking players in the second half, piling pressure on them to grind results which is normally hard when opponents are applying all sorts of tactics (park the bus, fake injuries to waste time, etc.). Akahambe ukomphela, sikhathele (Komphela must go, we are tired)." – Mkhwengxeli
"Yes, he is playing defensively, how can we score goals with his starting line-up?" – MSANDROTIC
"Komphela's focus is seeing Chiefs finish with a best defensive record this season. The rest is at the bottom of his priorities. What's the use of putting attackers on and telling them to focus on defending?" – Bucs_10
"Steve is there to solve that problem, it's not his place to complain about draws. It's our place as fans. He is just there to solve the problem." – Mtwesi
Considering the number of draws Chiefs have played to date, how far do you think they would be had the draws not been the case?
