The pressure continues to mount on Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela as his third season in charge at the club nears its end.
"Jola" took over from Stuart Baxter in 2015, immediately after the Glamour Boys had won the league. When the Kroonstad-born coach came on board, the Naturena side was in fine form.
Over the past two and a half seasons, though, Chiefs' form has derailed and there has been no new silverware in the Phefeni team's trophy cabinet. This comes as a frustration to the Amakhosi faithful, many of whom have been calling for Komphela's sacking since the beginning of the season.
One Supporters Club member has taken it upon himself to defend Komphela.
"I think the management of Chiefs will have themselves to blame. They took long to bring quality players to the team. I don't think it is good to blame Komphela, players like Castro and Ntshangase should have joined Chiefs long time ago. We have played too many draws and our strikers were not clinical up front. The quality was lacking all the time." – tebogo gm mahlaba
