AmaZulu are undefeated since thrashing Kaizer Chiefs 4-0, although that's only in the form of back-to-back draws against Marumo Gallants and Richards Bay.
Usuthu find themselves in eighth position on the table and a win can only take them up to sixth, as they bid to climb up the ladder.
Maritzburg, on the other hand, saw their three-game winning run come to an end after they were humbled 1-0 by Chippa United on Sunday.
The Team of Choice dropped down to third-from-bottom on the standings, just two points above the drop zone and still have a lot of work ahead of them in their bid to avoid relegation.
The sides could not be separated in the first round meeting after playing to a 1-1 draw early in the season.
