The Brazilians go in search of their second Champions League crown and their first since 2016 when Pitso Mosimane was still in charge.

Sundowns were seemingly one of the favourites last season after finishing top of their group that included Al Ahly, Al Merreikh and this afternoon's opponents.

Rulani Mokwena's charges did the double over Al Hilal in the group stages last season, including a 1-0 win at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

The South African champions come into the clash on the back of a 16-game winning run across all competitions.

Sundowns were dumped out in the quarter-final stage last season by Petro de Luanda.
