Saturday's Soweto derby could be the tipping point for both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, where the winner will put pressure on current log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pirates and Chiefs are currently in second and third place respectively behind the Brazilians and on Saturday both sides will play for more than pride as three points will be essential in challenging for league honours.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Pirates Administrative Manager Floyd Mbele said the that a lot is at stake in this derby when it comes the direction of the league.
"What makes this derby unique is that the three points that will be for grabs are of importance. In previous times pride was the motivating factor, but now we are both in the top three and challenging for the league," Mbele told Soccer Laduma.

"A win on Saturday could steer us in the right direction. There is literally a point that separates us from Chiefs and we are four points behind Sundowns so a win for us could be the tipping point for us this season.
"We're all aware of the permutations and we know what a win could mean for us as a club but we have prepared and we are ready for what will be a great game," concluded Mbele.
Meanwhile, the Brazilians could dampen the aspirations of both Soweto clubs should they win their league fixture against AmaZulu on Friday night and increase the gap between themselves and both Soweto rivals.
Pirates and Chiefs face off at the FNB Stadium with the match scheduled to begin at 15h30.
