The Zimbabwean's first half strike was cancelled out by Thamsanqa Gabuza in the second half, as the two Soweto giants played out to a 1-1 draw.
Katsande, who was named Man of the Match, felt they were let down by one aspect.
"I think overall it was a game of two halves, we dominated in the first half, we should have killed the game in the first half but unfortunately we couldn't convert our chances," Katsande said after the game.
"Second half, we knew they were going to throw everything against us but overall it was a good game.
"In football, even if you go overseas, it' all about two halves, we should have utilised our chances first half. Second half we were a little on the back foot but the guys fought very hard. I think we deserved the three points but unfortunately we need to go back to the drawing board and think about the next encounter."
