Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Wayne Sandilands, has spoken about the experience of playing in his very first Soweto Derby.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in his first game for Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs, as the two powerhouses of South African football played a 0-0 draw last weekend.
Sandilands, 34, commented on Bucs' official website about the experience of his first game in the derby.

"It was a beautiful experience. It's hard to put into words all the emotions that you feel when you're on that field. To play in such a massive game is a dream for every player.
"We all grew up watching such games, and we always wondered what it's like to play in the Soweto Derby. I really enjoyed it and the atmosphere was incredible, you can feel the rivalry between the two teams and it is something unique to experience. I feel so blessed and happy to be able to have tasted that. I'm looking forward to many more," the shot-stopper has been quoted on the club's website.

Sandilands is Bucs' number goalkeeper under Milutin Sredojevic, having played in all of the club's games so far this season.
