Mpho Makola and Luvuyo Memela outclass Kaizer Chiefs midfield

The midfield will be key for both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday's Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium.    Read: Soweto Derby A Tipping Point For Pirates And Chiefs Season    The Buccaneers have scored nine league games in their past five league matches, owing to their superior passing game over their Soweto rivals. At the heart of the Bucs midfield, both Mpho Makola and Musa Nytama have been instrumental in orchestrating the moves that have led to the Pirates' superior goal average and passing rate over Amakhosi.   Makola has averaged about 81 touches per 90 minutes in the fixtures he has played in which has led to him in making an average of about 60 passes a match with an 84% success rate. His opposite number George Maluleke has only managed about 73 touches per 90 minutes where he has also averaged about 60 passes but with a lesser success rate of 68%.     Click here to check out the PSL fixtures   On the flanks and through the midfield Luvuyo Memela has made a more significant contribution than Simphiwe Tshabalala. To date this season, the speedy winger has tallied 87 crosses which have found their target with an average seven crosses per game. Memela's success rate with his crosses is at 87% and his industry has directly led to 3 assists this season thus far.   Although Tshabalala has provided more crosses than Memela with 126 crosses, fewer of his passes have found their intended target with the veteran Chiefs man only registering a 69% success rate.
