The Bafana Bafana international has been out of action for the Amakhosi with a knee injury of late, keeping him out of the match day squad for Chiefs' last five PSL encounters.
The last time the shot stopper turned out for the Glamour Boys was in the team's 3-1 win over Golden Arrows back in the beginning of November last year.
Khune has had to watch from the sidelines as Brilliant Khuzwayo and Reyaad Pieterse have rotated the goalkeeping duties in his absence.
The latest news reaching the Siya desk is that the 28-year-old is set to make a return and is likely to be included in the match day squad for the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.
However, the news is yet to be confirmed by the Amakhosi camp and with Pieterse also set to be part of Steve Komphela's squad for the Derby, it remains to be seen who will get the nod to start in goal.
