Orlando Pirates have five players that are at risk of missing this weekend's Carling Black Label Cup according to club coach Josef Zinnbauer.
The Buccaneers have been hard at work at their Rustenburg base in preparation for the famed pre-season Soweto derby at the Orlando Stadium.
Fans have been casting their votes to see their favourite players take the field – but they may not get to see some of them as coach Zinnbauer revealed that five players have been struggling with injuries over the last two weeks.
"We have five players out, they are not in training sessions like (Tshegofatso) Mabasa, (Zakhele) Lepasa, Happy (Jele) Terrence Dzvukamanja and (Vincent) Pule they haven't often been on the field in the last 10 or 14 days," Zinnbauer told journalists at a press conference.
"It is a little bit of a stress, but it is much better than the last season. we know that we have almost five and a half weeks of pre-season compared to last season where we had two weeks, it's a big difference because we can work on tactics, we can work on conditioning," the German coach added.
Pirates will be making their way back to Johannesburg on Thursday where they will finalize their preparation for the match which takes place this Sunday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 17:00.
