Hugo Broos has discussed what his Bafana Bafana side has to do in Ghana to book a place in the World Cup qualification play-offs.
South Africa go into the final round of games in Group G top of the table and two points clear of the Black Stars – so a draw or a win will be enough without having to take out calculators to consider the permutations on Sunday.
Broos criticised his charges for a lacklustre 1-0 over Zimbabwe on Thursday, and argued he did not recognise his team.
He needs more from then in Ghana.
"Everything is there. But because today I didn't see that mentality or the fighting spirit doesn't mean I doubt the team, not at all. I really don't have a reason why it was like this. I also asked Percy after the game what happened, but nobody knows. It was not good. I am not anxious, I am sure for Sunday there will be another South Africa on the pitch," Broos told the media.
"It has to be the ambition for everyone to go into the play-off groups and try qualify for the World Cup. It's what we have to do – on Sunday we have to fight for it, really fight for it. If you don't have the mentality we will not succeed. It's up to us on Sunday, then after that there will be a draw and it will be up to us because once you are there, anything is possible. We are in a very good position, let's take it."
