On Saturday, January 13, Kaizer Chiefs will host Polokwane City in an ABSA Premiership league encounter. Rise and Shine are currently on a high with the striker, Rodney Ramagalela firing on all cylinders. On the other hand, Amakhosi drew their previous fixture and will be hoping for a turnaround.

Struggling Real Madrid are set to host Villarreal in a Spanish LaLiga fixture on Saturday. Los Blancos are currently 16 points adrift of log leaders, Barcelona. While their opponents, Villarreal are four points behind Zinedine Zidane's charges.

Spanish LaLiga leaders, Barcelona travel away as they face off against Real Sociedad. The Catalans have not lost a league match so far, this season, while their opponents have lost on seven occasions.

Match 5 Soccer 6 Pool

13 January S6 V2 P1

League Rankings: Chiefs 4th PLK City 11th

Useful facts: Rise and Shine will look to maintain their recently regained form which saw them move away from the relegation zone when they visit the Glamour Boys on Saturday. City who are positioned 11th on log standings at the time of writing, come into this confident after a hard-earned victory against log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Just five points behind Masandawana, Amakhosi kick-started the year with a draw and will look to improve their form and increase their chances of contending for the title. The last time the two teams met, they shared the spoils, drawing 0-0.

Real Madrid v Villarreal (LaLiga)

Match 2 Soccer 6 Pool

13 January S6 V2 P1

League Rankings: Madrid 4th Villarreal 8th

Useful facts: Only four points separate Zinedine Zidane's side from the visitors, Villarreal. Madrid haven't been in their best form since the start of the LaLiga season. They find themselves 16 points behind log leaders and archrivals, FC Barcelona. Los Blancos have a lot of hard work to put in if they are to catch the unstoppable Catalonian giants. The Yellow Submarine held the Vikings to a 1-1 draw in their previous meeting.

Real Sociedad v FC Barcelona (LaLiga)

Match 6 Soccer 6

14 January S6 V1 P1

League rankings: Barcelona 1st Real Sociedad 11th

Useful facts: With the latest addition to Barca's attack, Phillipe Coutinho, it will become even more difficult to stop the runaway Catalonian giants. Comfortably leading the second-placed Atletico Madrid, Ernesto Valverde's charges will look to continue where they left off, having easily cruised past Celta Vigo last weekend. With the Whites and Blues' poor run in the league, the visitors look a sure bet to extend the gap and remain on top of the log until the last day of the LaLiga campaign. The Royals haven't registered a win against Barca since May 2016 and they will look to change that when they welcome them at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta this coming Sunday. The last time these two clashed, it was the log leaders who claimed a 3-2 victory, in May 2017.

Portia Modise: Barcelona
