Bidvest Wits will host Cape Town City in the first ABSA Premiership league encounter for the season. Wits will be looking to begin their season on a positive note as they seek to retain their title, however, Benni McCarthy will be looking to steal three points away from home.

Bayern Munich will battle out against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Friday, August 18. Both sides will be looking to begin their campaign with a win, however, Munich will be hoping to take advantage of playing in their backyard.

The Pretoria derby will take place on Saturday, August 19, as SuperSport United will host cross-town rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns. Matsatsantsa will go into the encounter with confidence as they won their MTN8 quarterfinal match last weekend, while Sundowns bowed out the competition. However, Downs will be hoping to get back to winning ways.

Manchester United will travel away as they battle out against Swansea. The Red Devils are in high spirits after their first win in the league and will be looking to maintain their number one spot on the log standings as they face off against a Swansea side that drew their first fixture.

Liverpool will be hoping to not let this game slip through their hands after Jurgen Klopp's charges walked away with a point after a 3-all draw against Watford. Their opponents, Crystal Palace, will be looking to secure their first three points after their defeat at the helm of Huddersfield.

Kaizer Chiefs will be travelling away as they face off against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, August 20. Amakhosi will be looking for an away win, however, Siwelele will not be a walkover for Steve Komphela's men.

Bidvest Wits v Cape Town City (Absa Premiership)

2016/17 league rankings: Wits 1st City 3rd

Useful facts: This game seems to be destined for a draw, with seven of the last 14 matches ending in a stalemate. What's more is that both clubs are high on confidence after winning their respective MTN8 quarter finals. However, Wits will be at a disadvantage after Gavin Hunt was sent to the stands in the win over Golden Arrows, meaning he'll be consigned to the stands.

Gerald Modabi: Draw

Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga)

2016/17 League rankings: Bayern 1st Leverkusen 12th

Useful facts: The champions come into this game with recent history on their side, winning three of their last six against the 2002 Champions League finalists. However, both sides had a horrid pre-season with no wins, although Bayern did win the German Super Cup against Dortmund on penalties just less than two weeks ago.

Gerald Modabi: Bayern Munich

SuperSport Utd v Mamelodi Sundowns (Absa Premiership)

2016/17 league rankings: SuperSport 5th Sundowns 2nd

Useful facts: Sundowns may have won 16 of their last 26 against their Tshwane rivals, but Pitso Mosimane's men will be low on confidence after their loss to Maritzburg United in the MTN8, while SuperSport's spirits will be lifted by their win over Kaizer Chiefs in the same competition on Saturday. However, SuperSport may have the 5-0 loss to the Brazilians last season at the back of their minds.

Gerald Modabi: Sundowns

Swansea v Manchester United (Premier League)

League rankings: Swansea 12t h Man United 1st

Useful facts: Jose Mourinho's men will have inflated confidence after a 4-0 drubbing of West Ham on Sunday, but it's actually Swansea, who drew away to Southampton, that has the historical advantage in recent years, with three wins from six against the Red Devils.

Gerald Modabi: The Red Devils!

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (Premier League)

League rankings: Liverpool 9th Palace 19th

Useful facts: The Reds' pulsating 3-3 draw against Watford on the opening matchday may have Jurgen Klopp worrying about his defence, but the Londoners will be even more worried after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat to Premier League newcomers, Huddersfield. In head-to-head encounters, things are surprisingly even, with three wins each from their last six encounters.

Gerald Modabi: Liverpool

Bloemfontein Celtic v Kaizer Chiefs(Absa Premiership)

2016/17 league rankings: Celtic 12th Chiefs 4th

Useful facts: Amakhosi come into this game with history on their side, having won 13 of their last 25 against Siwelele. Furthermore, last season's lowest scorers scored just 16 times over the course of the entire season, while Chiefs had a consistent defence, conceding just 28 times in 30 games. Coincidentally, Celtic's record was identical.

Gerald Modabi: Chiefs
