Orlando Pirates first team coach Fadlu Davids says his side expect a much tougher encounter against Al Ittihad than the one they had against JS Saoura in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Pirates managed a comfortable victory over their Algerian counterparts on Sunday, but are weary that they face a much more difficult challenge in their next assignment.
The Buccaneers will travel to Libya where they take on Libyan Premier League leaders Al Ittihad on Sunday.
Speaking to the media after his side's disappointing goalless draw to Lamontville Golden Arrows, Davids said his side were hoping to put their league stutter behind them to focus on a tough opponent at a familiar venue.
"Our analysts have already done the work and we already have some details in relation to the team. [They are] definitely a better team so far if you compare them to [JS] Saoura that we faced, so [they are] really a tough opponent that we face," Davids told journalists.
Last season, Pirates managed to leave Libya scot-free after playing out to a goalless draw against Al Ahly Benghazi at the very same Martyrs of February Stadium and will be hoping for a similar result this time around.
"What is familiar is that it is the same stadium that we played last season, Aal Ahly Benghazi, so we know where we are going, we know the type of pitch, it is an artificial pitch. It is just now to finalize the finer details of the team and how they play, how we can approach the game but it will definitely be a tough game coming up," he added.
Kickoff for the match is at 18:00.
