Orlando Pirates are believed to now be in advanced talks with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hungry Lions to acquire their prized striker, Muzomuhle Khanyi.
Soccer Laduma had already linked Khanyi to Bucs in the past, but now, insiders from both clubs have indicated that Pirates are prepared to offer both a player and a financial package to secure Khanyi's services.

According to reliable sources, the move could be slated for the January transfer window, and Bucs are currently finalizing which player to offer to Hungry Lions as part of a potential deal.
"You remember Pirates inquired about Muzi (Muzomuhle Khanyi) earlier but at that time things didn't go far. Now, it is believed that Pirates are looking at giving Hungry Lions a player and money for the exchange of Muzi. They are strengthening their strikeforce and one of the players they are looking at is Muzi," the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that Pirates are considering allowing Hungry Lions to have a say in selecting the player they could receive.

"At the moment we can't say which players or player would go to Hungry Lions if the deal goes through. But in the event of the deal going through, I think both parties will benefit as Pirates will get the player they want while Hungry Lions will get a player plus money which will help the team. You know it's tough financially in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. So, it's a positive deal for both clubs," the second insider stated.
Khanyi, who joined Hungry Lions in July 2022, has enjoyed a successful stint with the Northern Cape club, scoring goals last season, but it is in this campaign that he has been a sensation topping the charts in the first half of the season.
Hungry Lions PRO Otsile Baitsomedi could neither confirm nor deny interest from Pirates or any other team, stating, "I can't confirm if Orlando Pirates or any other team is interested in Muzomuhle Khanyi. However, it doesn't come as a surprise to us that there is interest in the most consistent scorer in the country currently. The boy is enjoying his football at the moment, and we as a club are equally happy that he is finding his footing and helping the team and his teammates with his goal contributions," Baitsomedi told Soccer Laduma.
As Pirates look to finalise their pursuit of Khanyi, the potential deal underscores the club's commitment to enhancing their attacking options with emerging talent. For Hungry Lions, the prospective transfer offers a balanced opportunity to strengthen their squad financially and competitively, marking a strategic move for both clubs in the upcoming transfer window.
