A former Kaizer Chiefs player feels this weekend could be the perfect time to give Itumeleng Khune a chance in goal, following an injury to Brandon Petersen.
Khune has made only one appearance for Amakhosi, in the MTN8, but got some valuable minutes during the DStv Compact Cup in January, showing that he still has a lot to offer. The 34-year-old has been waiting for his chance and former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi feels this weekend's Premiership clash against Golden Arrows is a perfect time for Khune to be thrown into the starting line-up.
"To be honest, I would go for Itu. Chiefs have got quality in their goalkeeping department. Itumeleng still has that experience. We saw him in the Compact Cup and he did exceptionally well. Bvuma has been called up for the national team and there's still Akpeyi. But whoever they go with, they can do the job. I would go with Itu," Tsotetsi said to the Siya crew.
Bruce Bvuma has been included in the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Guinea and France and will be hoping to get some game-time before joining the national team camp.
Chiefs have had ample time to prepare for the upcoming clash against Arrows, having last played against Pirates close to two weeks ago.
