Kaizer Chiefs have omitted eight players from the travelling 18-man squad to face Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
It is Amakhosi's first foray this far into the competition and they have selected a strong squad to do battle at the Mohammed V Stadium this Saturday.
As is now common knowledge, Amakhosi would be without the services of Khama Billiat and Dumisani Zuma, both who are serving long-term injuries.
But the club also revealed that the duo of Lebogang Manyama and Ramahlwe Mphahlele have joined the list of players that would miss the trip to Casablanca after picking up respective injuries, throwing a spanner in the works for the all-important clash.
Manyama's absence could see Chiefs opt for a two-man attack with Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic, while Rama's absence will see Chiefs shuffle their defence – which shouldn't be much of a problem with Cardoso and Mathoho providing sufficient cover.
Chiefs have also selected three goalkeepers in Itumeleng Khune, Bruce Bvuma and Daniel Akpeyi, meaning that there is no space for the young Brylon Peterson.
The club revealed that assistant coaches Dillon Sheppard and Arthur Zwane will be in the dugout for the match while the club tries to finalize coach Stuart Baxter's paperwork – although the Englishman has made the trip to Morocco, where he is set to dish out instructions from the stands.
