Mzansi has reacted to Lyle Foster's move to Burnley FC in England and have questioned why so few South Africans 'make it' in Europe. Find out what Mzansi had to say by listening in the podcast player below!
Lyle Foster singing for Burnley Football Club in the English Championship has brought an immense amount of joy to Mzansi. Foster's deal, reportedly worth €10 million, will last for 4.5 years with the youngster hoping to help guide Burnley back into the English Premier League. Burnley has shown confidence in the 22-year-old and together they are hoping that goals will be aplenty.
Foster's move has also got Mzansi thinking as to why so few South Africans make it to Europe. Many fans have suggested that the development structure in South Africa is not of a high enough standard, and some have even suggested that the supporters are to blame, by saying, "When players are in Europe, we flood their social media which puts pressure on the boys."
South Africa will be watching Foster's movements closely with the hope of getting to see him in action.
On the latest episode of the Fan Reaction Show, fans comment on Foster's move and air their views on why South African players struggle to thrive in other countries and what issues need to be resolved for more local players to head abroad.
