The Nedbank Cup is very quickly heading to the business end with the round of 16 draw having been completed. The round of 32 brought with it some surprises, none more notable than Dondol Stars FC overcoming SuperSport United 2-1. Kaizer Chiefs fought hard against a 10-man Maritzburg United, winning 2-0 and Mamelodi Sundowns managed to scrape a victory over second-placed PSL team Richards Bay FC.
The round of 16 features some mouth-watering fixtures, with many Motsepe League teams progressing. The Cup has proved in the past, to have opened doors for these 'non-PSL' teams with the results to prove it. Many of the current PSL stars began their careers in the lower leagues and are now featuring on the continental stage.
