City strolled into the Champions League final after obliterating defending champions Real Madrid. The Citizens welcomed Los Blancos to the Etihad with an aggregate score of 1-1. Both teams had it all to play for, but City were seeking redemption after missing out last year, to Madrid. From the get-go, the Mancunians were on top form and scored within the first half an hour thanks to Bernardo Silva. The Citizens' dominance continued throughout the match, leaving players such as Luka Modric and Toni Kroos scratching their heads. Madrid suffered an uncharacteristic 4-0 defeat, and City will now face off against Inter Milan in the final on 10 June.

Pep Guardiola's men have been seeking European glory since the club's takeover in 2008, but luck has not been on their side thus far; dominating in England, the Champions League has so far eluded Pep and his team. Inter Milan will be no easy task as they have a strange way of bringing teams down to their level; manager Simone Inzaghi and his team are more than capable of creating a "scrap", forcing teams to change their tactics and step forward. A mouth-watering clash awaits the footballing world, which, in a way, does see City as the clear favourites.

The Premier League season has entered the final stages and both sides of the table are looking more interesting than ever before. The title race is on with City leading the standings, surpassing Arsenal who spent close to 300 days at the top of the log only to trail the leaders by four points, as things stand.

Newcastle will be looking to cement their spot in European football by claiming third spot, whereas Manchester United and Liverpool are battling it out for the fourth and final UCL spot. With a mere three game days left to go, if the league has taught us anything, never blink twice as it all could change immediately.

As for the bottom half of the table, Southampton are the only side in the league to be relegated so far, but Leicester City and Leeds United aren't far behind. Scarily, Chelsea are only 12 points off of the relegation zone, and mathematically, eight teams could still go down.

Unpacking the news reel:

  • Manchester City overcome Real Madrid
  • UCL semi-final review
  • Barcelona crowned LaLiga champions
  • EPL title race heats up
  • Relegation battle
