The Soccer Laduma esports crew had a chance to catch up with, Daniel 'Doxose' Osemeudiame, FIFA player and Guinness World Record holder for - The longest video game marathon on a football (soccer) game. For those of you who think you spend hours playing FIFA, lets see how you compare with Daniel.
Soccer Laduma: Hi Daniel, tell us, first up how did you come up with your alias 'Doxose'?
Daniel Osemeudiame: I got the "ox" from the bible (Psalm 92 vs 10) and then kept the first letter of my name "D" which makes it "Dox" and the "O" is short for "Osemeudiame".

SL: How long have you been playing FIFA?
DO: Since I was four years old.
SL: And video games in general?
DO: The same, also since I was four.
SL: So how does it feel to be a world record holder?
DO: It feels amazing.
SL: Now that you have accomplished this record are you looking to any other records?
DO: (Laughing), no I only did this to send a message to the European players and fans that Africans exist in terms of esport and we need more opportunities.

SL: Were there any moments when you thought you couldn't make it?
DO: No, I knew I could do it because it's what I do normally even when a record is not involved.
SL: Yeah, I suppose what is 50 hours straight for a serious gamer! Any messages for your fans and followers?
DO: I just want to say thank you and I won't disappoint them.
SL: Do you have a preferred console and why so?
DO: I prefer Xbox, I feel that the controller is more "grabbable". The gameplay is also much faster which develops players' brains more. That is why most of the best players in the world play on Xbox.
SL: How long have you been with your organisation? Have you been with any other organisations?
DO: I've been with Sinister 5 since June and haven't been with anyone else.
SL: Which has been your favourite edition of FIFA?
DO: I would say FIFA 15 and FIFA 20 – they felt the most like real football to me.
SL: Do you ever play any other football games? Any on mobile?
DO: The only other football game I play is Football Manager on PC.
SL: What's the one tip or trick you have learned that really elevated your gameplay?
DO: I think the one thing that elevated my gameplay was working on my distribution of the ball.
SL: If someone new had to ask you for one tip to improve their gameplay from being a total noob what is the one thing you would most probably suggest they focus on?
DO: I would say you should learn to play a possession game because holding the ball messes up the mentality of your opponent which will give him the opportunity to play on "high pressing" and he won't know he is only opening up his defence
SL: If you aren't playing FIFA what other esport would you get into?
DO: I would probably play Apex Legends.
