Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2020 may have snapped Juventus in the most recent version of the game, ensuring that EA SPORTS had to take a different approach to the Italian giants, but they have now confirmed that they have not renewed their licence for another Serie A side.
Juve signed an exclusive deal with Konami for PES 2020, which resulted in the Old Lady taking on the name, Piemonte Calcio, in FIFA 20, though they did use authentic player names and faces.
However, Konami has now revealed that they will not renew the licensing they had in place with Inter Milan, which creates questions as to how the club will feature in the next instalment of PES.
In a statement on Konami's website, the company said, "Thank you for playing eFootball PES 2020 and your continued support. Our licensing contract with FC Internazionale Milano will not be renewed. The representation of the Club will not be affected in eFootball PES 2020. This will not affect your acquired myClub players and can be used as normal in-game."
"In regards to other KONAMI football games, please wait for future announcements for each title. FC Internazionale Milano have been a strong advocate for the eFootball PES series we wish the club all the best in the future."
"Moving forwards, we will continue to strengthen existing partnerships and foster new relationships in order to provide the best possible eFootball experience. Thank you again for your support and understanding."
It now remains to be seen whether rivals, EA SPORTS FIFA, will pounce at the opportunity, and what it means for Inter Milan in PES 2021.
