EA Sports, in a recent update to FIFA 20 have reintroduced The Classic Xi (after a two-game absence). If you have updated to the latest version of FIFA 20 you will find the team under a new name "Soccer Aid World XI FC".
EA removed the Classic XI team from FIFA 18 and 19 without mentioning why this was done – speculation is that it was a move to drive players to play and spend in FUT, but either way, it's nice to be able to play with some of the game's absolute greats.

Even the quality of the reserves is mind-blowing with Michael Owen, Sol Cambell, Alan Shearer, Roy Keane, Ryan gigs, John Barnes, Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish all available to play.
In the past, these players were only available via FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) where they were all ultra-rare Icon cards, but thanks to the update they are available in Kick Off Mode and with a bit of magic they can be available to add to your Career Mode team too.
All you have to do is
• go to customise
• edit your team
• search for the Icon by name
• add to you team
• start a new career mode with current squads
Fun fact, if you retire one of the Icons in Career Mode, they can then become your manager which can make for some rather fun outcomes.
