After spending nearly a month in Spain, SuperSport United youngsters Thabang Makubo and Thabang Mahlangu have returned from trials at LaLiga 2 side SD Huesca, leaving a positive impression.
Sources close to the players and SuperSport United have indicated that although the duo is back in South Africa, SD Huesca will be expected to closely monitor them throughout the season, with potential plans for a return to Spain at the season's end.
"Yes, for now they have come back from Spain. I can confidently tell you they did very well while on trial there. And and the club is very happy. SD Huesca are set to monitor the duo for the remainder of the season at SuperSport United. The duo featured in friendly games with Makubo getting on the scoresheet in the ties while Mahlangu provided assists. They did very well," the Siya source stated.
A second insider mentioned that both players, Makubo and Mahlangu might feature prominently in Gavin Hunt's senior team this season, as they were already on the verge of being promoted from the DDC side.
