'Royal AM Players Have Been Paid Something'

Despite being under curatorship and having their games suspended by the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Royal AM remain undeterred as they continue their training regimen as usual, the Siya crew has been informed.

Insiders close to the club have indicated that the team remains hopeful that their challenging situation will soon be resolved, and that since the players have been paid then there is hope they will be back in action soon.

"What I can tell you now is that the team is training. The technical team and the players are going about their daily routines of training as if they are preparing for games. To them this is more of a pre-season where you train, have friendly games and wait for the league to start. That's the situation with Royal AM now. You know everything happens for a reason and there is a lesson to be learnt in all this and that is for the players too and the technical team to learn to remain focused on their work and let management do the rest and that's why the training continues without fail," the insider told the Siya crew.

A second Siya source discussed how the players and technical staff have been paid, suggesting positive developments in terms of salaries.

"I think the PSL continues to help in the salary issues because of the monthly grant. I think that's the money which helps the team to pay salaries because it's really meant for the club's running of costs. So I think for now that part is not a big problem as the players and the technical team got something. I can't say whether it's full salaries or not but apparently they were paid something just like at the beginning of the year in January," the second source stated.

The PSL has suspended all league and Nedbank Cup games involving Royal AM as they work towards finding a solution to the club's challenges. Soccer Laduma reached out to Royal AM General Manager Richard Makhoba for comment, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
