Ahead of their scheduled trip to Spain, Orlando Pirates could derail the plans of their rivals Kaizer Chiefs with their next expected appointment at the Houghton-based club.
As confirmed by the Buccaneers, the club has parted ways with Stephen Plummer, who has been a long-serving senior rehabilitation specialist, following his request to return to rugby side Blue Bulls after having served the Soweto giants for eight years.

In their search for Plummer's replacement, Bucs are strongly linked with Helmi Gueldich who has been part of Tanzanian club Young Africans' set-up under Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi who is linked with Chiefs.
With Nabi keen on the Chiefs role, where he is expected to replace Arthur Zwane as the head coach, the 58-year-old mentor has made it clear that he would like to have his own technical team.
By luring Gueldich to Pirates, it would mean that Nabi and Chiefs have been affected in their plans to finalise the technical team the way the Tunisian mentor would have liked in order to get on with the job.

Nabi and Gueldich have been key in leading the Tanzanian giants to back-to-back trebles in the last two seasons.
Meanwhile, Pirates are working around the clock to finalise their plans for the new season before heading to Spain next month for pre-season.
