SuperSport & AmaZulu Tracking Experienced Midfielder?

SuperSport & AmaZulu Tracking Experienced Midfielder?

With approximately six months remaining on his current contract, Marumo Gallants could lose one of their influential midfielders as two Betway Premiership sides are interested in his services.

Insiders close to Gallants and the teams interested in the player have indicated that Monde Mphambaniso is believed to be wanted by SuperSport United and AmaZulu FC.

The insiders added that both clubs have inquired about the 32-year-old midfielder with the aim of reinforcing their attacking midfield department in January and beyond.

"I think his good form so far this season is what has attracted these teams. It's not that they just came out of nowhere to inquire about him. They know him and they know what he is capable of doing. You know since Phillip Ndlondlo left the club then Monde Mphambaniso has been the one doing a lot of good work there and no wonder both SuperSport United and AmaZulu FC are interested in him. For SuperSport United it's believed that they want him to be cover for Grant Margeman who is currently out injured while for AmaZulu they need an experienced midfielder like him in that department," the Siya source stated.

A second insider stated that even if the 32-year-old does not move in January, he could sign a pre-contract with a team of his choice and join them at the end of the season when his contract with Gallants runs out.

"From January he can sign a pre-contract. His current contract with the club expires at the end of the current season and that could be an advantage to the teams interested in him. But with coach Dan Malesela showing belief and trust in him they would fight to keep him for a longer time though there is nothing yet at the moment. So, those clubs interested in him could actually get him for free," the second insider told Soccer Laduma.

This publication reached out to Gallants, SuperSport United, and AmaZulu FC for comment, but there was no response from the clubs at the time of publishing this report. As Mphambaniso's contract with Marumo Gallants nears its end, the interest from SuperSport United and AmaZulu highlight his value. Though, that doesn't mean the player would definitely opt to leave Gallants as they still have a chance to renew his contract and keep him beyond 2025.
