Mamelodi Sundowns are in talks with neighbours University of Pretoria to loan them two players as well as offer the Motsepe Foundation side with a coach to strengthen their technical department.
Soccer Laduma has learnt that Promise Mkhuma, who returned from a loan spell at All Stars FC, and goalkeeper John Watenga, who was on loan at Marumo Gallants, have both been offered to Tuks on loan. Mkhuma was promoted from the reserve side but failed to nail down a starting berth in the senior team, while Watenga was signed from Vipers in Uganda, but had to fight for the number one jersey with Kennedy Mweene, Denis Onyango, Ronwen Williams and Reyaad Pieterse.
In addition, the Tshwane giants will also send coach Sinethemba Badela out on loan to the University side as a guest coach, most probably to monitor the loaned players at Tuks. Badela has been a part of the All Stars technical team and came to Sundowns highly recommended by Rhulani Mokwena after the status of the club was sold to Black Leopards.
The Siya crew picked up information that, in fact, Badela was highly tipped to become an additional member of the Downs technical team, but that this development has not met approval from management. He was therefore selected as a candidate to be seconded to Tuks to monitor the loaned players ahead of both Esrom Nyandoro, their former chief scout, and David Notoane, who was the DStv Diski Challenge coach and doubled up as national U23 coach.
In the latter's absence while on national duty, Sundowns appointed legendary Surprise Moriri to oversee the DDC side.
