Mamelodi Sundowns are understood to be monitoring SuperSport United attacker Shandre Campbell, with a move for the young talent not being ruled out.
The Siya crew has been led to believe that the former DStv Diski Challenge star has attracted interest and that Matsatsantsa are looking at the possibility of sending him to Europe. Their Tshwane rivals, however, have proved that they have the financial muscle, having done so with Thapelo Maseko before the start of this season, and they will test SuperSport's resolve.
The Brazilians are understood to be looking at the fact that Campbell is a young player who can make an impact at the club and possibly even go overseas after that.
The left-footed player, who made his debut for the Gavin Hunt-led outfit at the beginning of the current campaign, has made 18 appearances in all competitions, with seven goal contributions during this period.
He has scored three goals and has chipped in with four assists, showing how important he is for the side.
He has gained some experience on the continent too, with Super- Sport competing in the CAF Confederation Cup, where their road has come to an end despite having one more game to play in the group stage, this Sunday against USM Alger.
Matsatsantsa are adamant that the player is not for sale, but the club has previously sold players even after maintaining that stance. So, a move cannot be ruled out, whether locally or to a club abroad.
