Soccer Laduma reported in May that youngster Malebogo 'Bale' Modise was still hoping to be given an opportunity at Mamelodi Sundowns following his brief stint with All Stars FC.
The Siya crew has now been informed the defender will be going back to Chloorkop to be assessed by coach Rulani Mokwena, although there is already an understanding the player will be sent out on loan again.
Modise was one of a few emerging talents from the club's youth academy to be handed senior team contracts several years ago while Pitso Mosimane was still the head coach.
His nickname 'Bale' was testament to his explosive pace and ability to not only play as a left back, but a winger as well.
Mosimane had predicted a bright future for Modise alongside striker Promise Mkhuma, with both part of the junior national team set-up at the time and viewed as the future generation. It's not worked out for the duo at Chloorkop, who spent a year on loan at Motsepe Foundation Championship side All Stars FC – a team that has now been sold to Black Leopards ahead of the upcoming season.
According to sources close to Modise's camp, he still has a long-term contract with the reigning DStv Premiership champions even though his future is in the balance given competition in the team.
Modise was a regular for All Stars, but to command consistent minutes in the star-studded Downs team will prove impossible.
