Over a year has passed since Cele was hotly linked with a move to Naturena.
Instead, the player secured a two-year contract with Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Radomiak Radom, where he has been plying his trade since October last year.
The 25-year-old reaffirmed his decision to choose Europe over a potential return to South Africa.
"It was really close to happening, me coming back to South Africa, but at the end of the day I had to sit with myself and think about the decision and my people. It was close to happening and I had to take a decision and I decided that for me right now, as much as I am 25 years old now, I still have time to get to where I wanna get to, ever since I came to Europe," Cele said in a Twitter space hosted by Prince Sobayeni.
"I decided to stay this side and just fight for this thing. That was my decision," he added.
The KZN Academy graduate is currently out nursing an injury although he is expected to return when his side take on Miedz Legnica om 27 December.
